thanks and really appreciate the feed back. he hasn't moved much at all...very little..but Wednesday is when I noticed him really dull and a hint of blue in his eyes...I handled him the first week I had him, but since I thought he was going into shed and him being new to me. I was trying to give him time to get used to his new home. ..but do you think him not moving around may have affected him shedding..i want the absolute best for him within my reach anyway...he as a big water bowl in with him...humid 60-70....did my may miss read him going into shed maybe? he was really dull and hint of blue in eyes....should I avoid handling him right now? ...
    thanks for the help

They usually are not active during a shed so that's normal.

As for handling that's between you and your snake. During a shed some snakes get defensive because of the poor vision and physical changes that occur during the shed. If your snake tolerates you during this time a bit of handling is not going to hurt anything. I do not handle my snakes during shed, at least not while they are in blue.

I agree with KMG on the handling part I only handle mine on accidents at times when cleaning and notice her eyes 😂. All snakes have personality, hope he sheds good. Just a question do you have frog moss with him?

no moss... I have thought about getting some, do you think it would help him with shed? I thought about getting some type of moss to help keep humidity up.

Well just try it with none for right now if it all goes good then you should be fine but if you go someplace and it fluctuates moss is a good thing to have. I use some in both hides (don't wet the moss to much on the cool end). If you have a bad shed then I'd suggest it. ☺

I'd feed him at night. That gives him all day to digest while he sleeps.
