Can I start handling my ball python yet?

I just got a ball python and I now know the importance of not handling them. I tried to feed him 2 to 3 days after I got him from Repticon, (he didn't take) and that was with handling him every once and a while. But I quickly caught on and I am completely leaving him alone now
