And, for what its worth, anything goes in the Off-Topic Cafe as long as it's kept family-friendly. You can talk about cars or music or movies or fav foods or penguin mating habits or whatever as much as you want in there.

BUT if you're asking (for example) what size cage to buy for your herp, please put it in caging. If you want to know how to raise rats to feed your pets, please put it in feeders. If you want to know whether to buy a corn snake or crested gecko, please put it under corns, rhacodactylus, or general herp.

We're really not that uptight, but we want to keep this site as user-friendly for everyone as we can, and that means people who take the time to look for previous threads on ball python shedding shouldn't have to look further than ball python general or husbandry to find them and shouldn't have to wade through 50 posts to find 7 that are actually on-topic. If you think, "Oh! I should have asked/mentioned this!" after you hit submit, use the Edit button at the top right of your post to add it instead of posting again (and again and again) right under your previous post.

Play and have fun, but if you see a thread seriously going off-topic, please start a new thread in the appropriate section to continue that discussion.

Anyone who got CHiPed this weekend is welcome to try to post by these guidelines this week and then ask to have your rank returned. It's not a punishment. Punishment comes in the form of a strongly-worded PM from a mod or admin or being banned from the site and takes pretty bad forum behavior to earn.

just wanted to add my two cents...
Chip was intended as a humorous way to say "hey, please tone it down a notch". It was not meant to be insulting as Blink found it. We are sorry to see him go. Our goal here is to make an informative site for everyone. Lately there has just been a lot of posts where people are having one on one convo's, and threads that mean nothing to anyone else. That kind of thing is better left to pms or our awesome chat room (please check it out!). We want this site to grow, but having alot of spam on the boards is going to deture new members and also takes away from people looking for information.
This is also why we have created the off topic cafe. For the most part, that has been going well, and we thank you guys for keeping off topic there and making our lives easier as mods.

So please, no one take offense, we are just trying to keep ball-pythons.net an informative place. You guys have been great. You are what has made this site the great place that it is.
