I've never done that before; I wouldn't think it would be that terribly effective. I used to do that with my sugar gliders, but then again their olfactory systems are very different, and I don't walk around with my snakes in a pouch around my neck. :D

If you handle your snake daily, 10-15 minutes a day.
    He'll get used to you.
Personally I see no need for the shirt method.

Speaking of Sugar Gliders I had one take a dump on my arm a while back.

Blink, they take a dump on everything. Being peed on is actually an expression of affection. It's how they scent things, and by scenting you you become "theirs".
When I owned sugars, I had a special sweatshirt designated for when I took them out, and I had to wash it almost daily because of how much I got pooed/peed on.

After he took a dump on me, I never wanted to play with them again lol.

He/She wasn't mine, I was playing around with it at my local herp shop.

Heh - I am teh p00 magnet. Especially with our AfRock - I pretty much have to let her swim around the tub and do her business before handling or she'll let me have it every time. Love is strange.

A while ago I was planning to use the shirt method to get my bp to get used to my scent easier. But now that I have her, I see she's easily already warmed up to me in the short few days she's been with me, so I dropped the idea. If she was hissy and shy and stuff, then I might have considered the trick again. But she's a healthy captive bred so I think she'll come around quicker/easier. :)
