Little bit of advice which helped me when I was starting out; you probably know some of this:

A hiding BP is a happy BP, if you're worried you haven't seen your BP by all means do a quick check to make sure they're okay (I do this I just try to limit the time period I do it for)

You have the bug, the bug is something which afflicts many BP/snake owners and is highly contagious! The bug takes the form of a serious addiction and possible withdrawal symptoms of the python regius form and the only way to alleviate the symptoms temporarily is to purchase more of the said python regius. This should cure you for a short period of time but it is not a saving treatment.

Everybody feeds and houses their BP's differently and it can cause some debate so I won't get into that here. There are lots of threads if you're ever unsure of anything or you can specifically ask and someone will be sure to help you out!

WE ALL make mistakes! We all learn as we care for them so if you ever make a mistake don't ever beat yourself up! Ask for advice and learn from it, that's all that matters!

Feeding: hopefully your BP eats like a champ but they can go off food for a variety of reasons such as "hitting the wall" when they get to around 1000g, husbandry being off, food not sufficiently heated, stress from enclosure changes....the list goes on and on

Finally; and most importantly, enjoy yourself and your new pet. You sound happy and you're on the right forum for advice. Good luck :D

I woke up in the morning to find him sleeping in the fake plants under the heat bulb...I figured something was wrong..I opened the hide found crap and piss. So it's now 540 and I'm about to leave for work and I start at 6am,so I couldn't leave him like that,so I spot cleaned the hit side of the tank cleaned the urine and crap, changed half the tank of aspen and got to work 20 mins late,my excuse was my alarm didn't go off :). The things we do for our pets...:D

Yea Mine seems to be a freak haha. The enclosure is spotless. I remove any poop / waste I see as i see it and mix up the bedding here and there as well. I have thermometers on both sides of the tank and i hold a constant acceptable temperature as well.

I've handled her pretty much every day since she was a baby as well so maybe she is just used to being in the open and enjoys some sun :)

Mine also doesn't want to go back in the tank after adventuring outside. He either wraps around my hand trying to put him and doesn't let go, or if I manage somehow to put him in he's right at the opening before I can close the lid ;)

It's like hard to get out and even harder to get him in :D

As I put my guy in,he raises his head and starts to crawl up my armor well just go the opposite direction of in,lol..I usually set his head, when I get him in towards his hide and he goes right in anyway. He's a good little guy

So now i am seeing some odd behavior as well. Nothing i'm worried about, but just strange to me. My Ball has been burrowing under the substrate for the past few months rather tan going to her hide box. i'd say about 15 percent of the time she is hiding, she is under the pine. rather her box. Anyone else see this? First time she did it i was freaking out thinking she had somehow gotten out because i couldn't find her but after lifting up her basking poo / large water dish…there she was as comfy as can be.

Don't worry about them burrowing. They are burrowers in the wild living under termite mounds and underground small animal dens. It's natural. Also remember they will want to move between the hot side and cool side. I have hides on both sides for them Four of my six have been staying on the cool side for the past week or so since the weather got cooler. Even my rainbow boas are doing the same thing right now. All is good!

Not if its kiln dried. Only untreated raw pine can be harmful.
