    Women tend to use more things with chemicals and smells (makeup, special soaps,and so forth). I wonder if that could have something to do with it.

    That could be a point. I also think they smell their "usual" caregiver and seem to be a lil more content with them than someone else.

    It's a possibility. I have never had snakes or other animals behave aggressively/defensively with me, but I don't use perfume or scented lotions and usually wash my hands prior to handling.

    But I do believe some people just give off something that a snake finds threatening. Some pheromone maybe?
