    Here's Mom - a calico named Penny. She's around 14' in length and a WC that we've had for years.

    Thanks for the kind words! We know for sure it's a new morph, we just don't know whether or not it will throw a super. Here's hoping!

    Wow, mama is something else! It looks as if the white scales are almost of a different texture or consistency than the colored scales, though I'm sure that's probably not the case. Very interesting looking, though.

    About the new morph, I got confused when you said

    To top it off, the Golden Child is a small snake - only around 8' long or so. The eggs that the babies are hatching out of aren't much bigger than ball python eggs, and we're awaiting locality information from our importer to find out if this just may be another form of dwarf retic.
    And thought maybe there was some possibility that this was just an unusual variation of a particular locality. My goof. It must be very exciting to watch a new morph hatching out (and a little nerve-wracking waiting on it!). :)

    I understand what elevate is trying to say about the eyes. Those eyes are just... evil LOOKING, not saying they are evil snakes ^_^ Something about those eyes that says to me "Don't mess with me, or I'll devour your soul!" or something ^_^;;

    I think people get the idea that retics are meanies because of the reputation they had a while back, when tons of people had WC specimens. I read this somewhere, back then a ton of tics were WC and mean as could be. So they got a reputation that stuck with them, even till this day.

    Oh no, I'm not even going by their reputation, to me its all in the eyes ^_^ I know for a fact that CB adult retics are like huge babies ^_^

    I guess you all do have it right there.... I like my Amazons and they probably have a much worse "attitude" than a retic and people ask me why I would want a snake that does nothing but bite :) I say the same thing... "They just dont get it" :)

    The experiences I have had with retics is with poorly cared for ones and ones that are not handled freqeuntly. So it is unfair for me to make an assumption off of those kinds of experiences.

    What beautiful snakes Kara. Congratulations to you and the NERD Family.
    I love retics. I always feel that they are one of the few snakes that will "stare back at you".
    They seem to be a very intelligent species, they seem to calculate their moves. Do you know what I mean?
    Well once again, beautiful snakes.
