I'll move the airpump to the floor or something. I only run the unit when humidity isn't where I need it to be. Do you think that poses a fire hazard to have the CHE right over the log?

if you are worried about a fire hazard then your setup is way too hot.

Well I wasn't sure if that log would light up because the CHE is right over it.

ill be honest... in a tank that small, it's gonna' be hard to keep a good setup with any sort of lamp. you need to focus on humidity at this point, younger snakes shed more often than adults. try heating the enclosure with a human heating pad. also, modify the lid (if you haven't already) so there is only a little bit of screen exposed.

I have already modified the lid using an idea I got from someone on the RedTailBoa forums. Here is a picture.

It's poster board with duct tape all around it. I'm not having any problems with humidity because I did purchase that new setup thing as you can see. Right now I'm just having problems keeping the warm side warm and the cool side cool. Most of the time the temperatures are just about the same. I'm pretty sure this is because I am only using my CHE right now because my UTH will heat up to 130 so I have ordered a thermostat and unplugged the UTH until that gets here. I think when that arrives that will make things awhole lot better. Tanks are a pain to keep a reptile in... but with enough equipment and tank modifcation it is possible. When she grows out of it I'm going to make her a wooden cage so anyone feel free to send me some plans. Thanks.i
