    Re: Desert Female Concerns
I am not too sure of of exact lineage other than that, but I may try to dig into it next time I see the breeder who sold it to me and see if I can track down some history on him.

Like I said, I am almost conviced it may be a underdevelopment/growth thing with them. With reports of others now having success, this only strengthens my thoughts. This makes me think like this: Two little people can have normal and little children, but the normal children (from my brief research) still carry the dwarfism genes that can be passed to later generations.

So with that thought, if the desert undersize issues are another gene on top of the desert gene, you should get some that are just fine. The only problems with these thoughts is that 1. there would be no way of knowing which have problems or not, and 2. i'm no genetisis, but I would think that you would be seeing the non deserts in the clutch having issues as well since the parent would be passing it. So I don't know. I wish more information about what has been tried and not tried was more public knowledge, without the flaming from the masses. I have an experiment I would like to try at some point, but it would be nice to know if it had been tried or not yet.

While I am just rambling thoughts, I find it funny that the issues with females has made this a no go for alot of people and the price of deserts has really tanked. I think the desert morphs are right up there with banana combos. Yet, you do not see too many female banana around, because of the whole way they work. Yet it is still a hot morph with just the males, so you would think the same would apply here, at least a little bit.
