It didn't come from her vet. It came directly from a manufacturer's rep, as she said:
    Quote:

I'm in Vet Tech training and we had Merial, the people who make Frontline and Heartguard, come to our school and do a seminar. We asked if it could be used on snakes, and they said yes, it is very safe.

    Thanks Marla....
So I change that request to.....
Can the rep provide some sort of backup to show that the stuff is safe? I found a couple of papers online regarding the use of Frontline on snakes and it was iffy at best. There were several reports of skin irritation and dehydration from the chemicals in the Frontline. Especially when it was used on young snakes. Again I like the possibilities that the Frontline could offer, but I dont want to chance anything with my snakes.

Satanicintent.... Tones and intentions sometime come across the wrong way in type so please do not take the questions in the wrong manner. I am in no way questioning your skill, knowledge, or abilities. I am simply trying to get and get some information and make sure that information being given is supported by more than just a salesman trying to market a product. :) We are using you is what we are really doing :D !!!!

I agree, more information would be useful. I am also leery of accepting any information from manufacturers' reps at face value. However, if the information provided is true, it has enormous potential to simplify mite and tick treatment in reptiles and I'd love to have it as an option.
