I also do not see that the Edit went through where I removed the part about not necessarily believing that I overpaid. Do you guys think that I did overpay? I am really pretty confused now, and I really hope that I am not coming across as a complete moron.

I don't see granite either.:( And I would never give the Kicks any of my business. Even if its in person, you are supporting a shady character by purchasing from them.

I'll try to keep this short because I sometimes go off into tangents lol
I don't think you overpaid by too much. If it was a proven genetic granite LB, $500 is pretty cheap for a 3 banger. Since it's not a granite though, I think you only overpaid by a relatively small amount. However, if you're happy with her, you could just eat the ~$60 you overpaid, and consider it a lesson learned. That's what I would do, simply because I'd rather not start getting tangled with a huge BOI war with someone with a bad reputation. What have they got to lose? Bad customer service, constant mislabeling of morphs, selling hets that aren't really hets... It doesn't seem worth it to me. I know some people have the energy to go after them and get what you want, but I think all you're going to get is more stress and a headache from not getting what you really want from them..
I don't think you're a moron, but you've been out of the hobby for a while, so you just have to slowly get your legs underneath you before venturing out and buying morphs :gj:. The Desert morph is a hot one, but don't go buying a female in hopes of breeding, because they can't lay eggs... It's easy for someone who doesn't know these things to find themselves in a similar position as you are.
As for the refund problem, I already stated what I believe, and I am sticking firmly with it. If you're offered a refund, and you choose to accept it, it's a done deal. Refund is owed, no ifs or buts... I think it's pretty straight forward.

Holy sheet. I saw the BOI feedback on Kick now. I had the new snake quarantined anyway and does not show signs of mites or of anything being off, but I will beware of any sort of odd behavior or sicklyness. She looks fine now, but I will be.. well, I cannot say extra-vigilant, since I am extra vigilant anyway.. But I will definitely not be buying from them again, I can say that.
They do have a "No refunds on live animals" sign plainly in their store, by the register. I do not see myself being able to get any sort of refund from them; from what I see on the BOI, they will just point to the sign. I guess that the future can only be changed, and for now, I just hope that this snake is okay and does not show signs of illness or anything.
I did not see anything amiss in the store itself. There is a huge ton of different herps offered there, and when we walked through yesterday, things did not seem to be visibly dirty or too overcrowded. Looking back at the posts that are more recent than my experience with them years ago, I am scared; I'll say that much. I see the info about animals appearing okay at shows and then dying a week later. I will say that if anything at all is amiss about this snake, I will let you all know, and will contribute to the BOI. I will not just leave a feel-good post now because the snake is alive and appears well.. this snake had better be okay too, because my husband used his funds to buy the snake, and will probably explode like a propane tank if anything is wrong with her.

Granite is hard to see sometimes from the way things look. I just purchased this granite lemonblast female from Rob Starzman on fauna. I also questioned him about the granite, and the great price I paid for her. he responded with this "She was produced from an outback reptiles super granite. Different lines of granite out there... This is one of the less pronounced versions but seems to be somewhat polymorphic in subsequent generations. " Based on his history and feedback there is no doubt in my mind that she is what I was told she is.
No one can be positive if yours has granite or not until she is old enough to breed and she proves out.
