Yes Robyn you are right.
So far I have lost about 70 of the bp's, my leachies, and several chameleons. Most of the bp's drowned because of the water to put out the fire.
Now there is a lot with ri, and we are treating them, I have lost some from this.
It has been hard and time consuming to get there cages moved and heat re-set up. A lot of the thermostats were damaged by water or probes pulled out when the cages were moved out of the house. Thank god for the firefighters, there was a lot of them helping caring cages out and loading them onto the two skid steers to move them. It took 5+ hours to pull all the snakes and move them to our rodent barn. Then two days and a u-hall to move them to one of our Jurassic pet stores.
Now that they all have heat again I hope we keep the losses to a minimum.
Sadly we did not have business insurance, but on the bright side I have had 2 clutches of baby boas born since the show and one clutch of bp eggs laid. I don't have an incubator anymore so that is the next hurtle to go over.
The fire was started in the garage. The fire investigators have determined it was a dear mouse chewing a wire on my silk screen heaters cord.
The hardest loss for us right now has been the dogs. You can see some of the on www.greatwhitegoldens.com.
We are still in a hotel and it sucks. I hope we can find a rental soon.
Best news is we got the go ahead to start the rebuild.

I'm so sorry for your loss and glad to hear that some animals were able to be saved. It sounds like you handled this situation better than most people would be able to, kudos for being so proactive and good luck on the road to recovery.

Seeds of the future right there.

I'm so sorry about your poor dogs. They were beautiful. :( How sad.

I didn't even know white golden retrievers existed. I'm so so sorry for the loss of your fuzzy and scaly family members. I'm glad to hear that you have new babies on the way though. May they bring you cheer.
