I haven't felt the need for a case. The aluminum its made of is plenty strong. Im now going to google patriots iPhone cases though, bc thats a lovely fashion statement imo!

I have a Galaxy Nexus. I must say I love the pure google experience and I would highly recommend it over other phones that "skin" the android OS. Pure Jellybean is such a pleasure to use. Touchwiz, HTC sense... I don't really like them too much. They come with some extra features, but overall I just don't like the look of it.

Have you thought about the Nexus 4? http://www.google.com/nexus/4/

I do like the iphone, but for me it just isn't customizable enough. I love the hardware design, but I don't love the operating system. It is great if you already have other apple devices, but its not a make or break feature. I have a macbook pro and an android phone. I use all google services already which are easily accessed through any web browser on any computer, so we have a similar functionality.

As for the plastic feel of most android devices, I'd say this isn't really as bad as people make it seem. These devices are SOLID. They are light because they don't use so much metal (sorry apple, love the design, not the weight). The plastic is not flimsy, it is FLEXIBLE. This is a good thing because when you drop it, it doesn't shatter like an all-glass iphone. I've dropped android phones left and right and never have I had a broken screen or any broken parts. I still have my droid incredible which has taken multiple tumbles out of my pocket while riding my bike. It still works.

Really it comes down to preference. Once device is not going to out spec the other. One is not "better" than the other. If you like having all of your apple stuff synced up, then go with apple. if you are looking for something with more freedom, go with android. You won't be sorry either way. Having a smart phone is something we sometimes take for granted. It really is amazing that we all have access to this amazing technology in the palm of our hands.

My vote would be android. Google is doing some cool things and its only going to get better. Also, be aware that this technology moves very fast so there is a chance your phone will be outdated in 6 months by something bigger and better. There is a big tech conference at the end of this month. I would wait to make your decision until after all the new devices are announced. There might be something amazing right around the corner.

i dont oike using phone cases so i usually just try to be really careful with my phones. had an otterbox for my iphone 4 and got sick of struggling to take it out of my pocket when i wore jeans so i took it off.. thats probably why the back of my phone is taped on right now. lol i felt like the iphone 4s were more fragile than the s3 because of the glass. so many people i know have shattered iphones. lol from my understanding though the 5 is sturdier?
