Whatever it is it's really clean like a nice super. Need to breed that one for sure!

Def is a great looking Pastel........ but it has still browned compared to it as a hatchling. As has been noted already, you can clearly see the browning. Also those pics have a lot of flash in them which I am sure has drowned out a lot of the browning. I have a 2kg pastel breeder female that was very hot as a hatchling. She has browned out as an adult. I can take pics of her with a lot of flash and it too will drown out a lot of her browning and make her look more yellow.

My intention by posting this thread was to soley show ppl that all pastels do not brown out as tons of them on the market tend to do so with age.Not to make a "look at me post." The pics I posted lastnight were fresh shed. To point out your idea that Im washing the colors out by flash,here are some older pics just for you WITHOUT FLASH and in natural light. In the last two pics you can visibly see some dirty brown towards her neck area but keep in mind those pics were before a shed.She has lightened more since the last 2 pics were taken.

All pastels will have a tiny bit of brown because it happens to be part of their coloration. What we are looking for is adults that have held their yellow color to adulthood. I've seen some pastels so browned out they look like super blushed normals. But the yellow color just wasn't there.
I think the point of this thread is to show that not all pastels are created equal, whether imported or not if its compatible with other pastel genes then it is a pastel.
There will always be a little browning.. its up to us to breed for a high yellow pastel that holds its color, not picking up the cheapest one just to have a clutch of brown bees.

I agree that she is a great looking pastel (assuming she is just pastel, and not more) but I think perhaps the point here should be "pastels don't always lose their yellow" and not "pastels don't brown". I'll bet that even this pastel was more yellow as a baby, and has indeed "browned". Despite that, she still looks awesome and is the kind of pastel everyone should look for!
