At the Pomona show, a girl in her late teens or early 20s approached my tablemate and asked if he could explain what het and the percentages meant. She had a notebook and wanted him to write it down so she could study it. My tablemate wasn't sure where to start so I grabbed it from him and spent the next 10 minutes or so scribbling the terms and doodling a punett square. When she returned, she was so thankful that she wanted to pay for the notes which we denied of course. Sure we could have turned her around and told her to google things but seeing someone get excited about something you're passionate about, that blossoming interest... it's worth more than money. We all started somewhere and was in her position at one time or another... wouldn't you want someone to help you too?

Ha! I love that!! Wish I had seen that :P. I agree - that's just fun.. It's not work when you're answering questions to people who honestly want to learn as much as they can. As Heather said, it's awesome talking to people who share the same interest.
