I'm not doing it this year because I'm living abroad, but last year I visited my grandma in Michigan over Thanksgiving and went to the mall on Black Friday. Those lines were the craziest thing I've ever seen! People were set up with lawn chairs outside PC World in 21 degree cold! It was a good experience for me because I was so jet-lagged I was up at 5am anyway, but I couldn't imagine going again.

There is NO WAY I am even going anywhere near the stores today. Walmart is just down the road from me and I know that store is alreayd packed with people and the traffic will just be terrible.

I only ever did Black Friday shopping once, in a mall with my now-ex's mom. Woman was pure Oklahoman shopping in suburban Illinois. I just followed behind her XD We were mostly going for a couple electronics and some clothes, so it wasn't too bad, aside from getting up before 6am. I was working overnight at CVS this year, thankfully we did our biggest sales at the beginning of the week so it was pretty calm tonight, aside from a guy puking in our parking lot >_> Gotta love holidays.

Cyber monday all the way. Because I had to work today my boyfriend and I drove home at 11 PM last night from my family's cabin about 2 1/2 hours away. I was so confused by all the traffic that there was on the way back, some exits on the freeway were backed up a mile or more. And then we passed the outlet center next to one of the big casinos and I had a "duh" moment. Weird stuff, I don't like shopping anyway so it just made me cranky the whole way home  The whole reason I wanted to go so late was for some nice clear freeway and a speedy return drive home. At least I know better for next year...

No black Friday shopping for me. I was at Two different Best Buy stores in NJ on Tuesday and there were already tents up and people camping out to be the first in line. Sorry, but three days of my time is worth a lot more than saving a few bucks on a TV.

My Black Friday shopping was done from the warm (and dry - it only stopped raining here 30 minutes ago) safety of my computer. :D I picked up 4 relatively new release DVDs for $30 including tax and free shipping. Gotta love Amazon. :)

I make it a point never to even leave the apartment on this day. We need groceries...but they wait until tomorrow when it's safe to venture outside again.

And there was a major brawl at a store up here from what I heard. Sigh.

We grabbed a couple DVDs at Wal-Mart when they had their Black Friday sale, but that was it. I'm not getting into a fight or waiting hours on end just to save a few bucks on a TV. We did have a couple of folks cop an attitude with us when we got there before they cut the pallets open. We simply stopped and looked from the isle at a pallet to see what kids toys were on that particular pallet in case we saw something for our nieces. This jerk and his girlfriend instantly flew off the handle at us looking at their precious pallet that the two of them were guarding. We didn't get closer than 10 feet away and they screamed about waiting our turn (guess they claimed the whole pallet?) and to back off before someone gets hurt. We just laughed at their stupidity and wandered off to the next pallet. I am convinced that if they were any more closely related to dogs that they would have marked that pallet.
