Who are you taking the poor baby with the RI to? You've got them all quarantined separately?

(Is she the same one with all the broken ribs?)

Seriously. I've been traumatizing my would-be buyers in the northeast by threatening to refund their money if they won't wait for warmer weather, or outright telling them not to pay me unless they're willing to wait until spring... because SYR says "don't ship" below 38F, and oh yeah, also, something about a hurricane.

Why am I worrying??? I could just chuck my animals into any old cardboard box and mail them off! :mad::mad:

I work for a vet occasionally, mostly I watch my grandchildren and play with snakes, and the 4 are all Quarantined and have been from the get go at a friends house that I trust completely and with whom i have spent many hours with sinc they arrived daily. Once the one broke with the RI, she was also removed from the QT area to her own, same room, but covered and the others covered, even though they were shipping together. All heat has been cranked yp from the minute we got them, and I had planned on taking her for a culture today but my randson got sick and I could not take him with me but hope he is better so we can go tomorrow.

A small blessing but no, she is not the one with broken ribs that we are aware of, but she is supposed to be the one that might be gravid, and there is a picture of a confirmed lock with her and a mojo that I was sent. I feel like this might be the reason she broke with the RI and that, knock on wood, the others have not. Being gravid would certainly add stress to her system.

Mad, sad, still shaking my head that ANYONE with any brains at all thought this was an ok way to ship, regardless of the other facts involved, like one snake being 1000 grams less than advertised.

poor thing. at first i thought she was just twitchin but then noticed she seemed to "twitch" back every time she flicked her tongue. i would assume its hurting her to flick it. kinda like when we get a really sore throat and wince every time we swallow.

Now Shane said on Fauna BOI that she has had the neuro twitch
ing for 6 months, laughing about it. That was not disclosed, of course :(

RI girl continues to not get worse, not really better, but kinda more plateau. Barely any gapping, no more yawning, so i am happy about that. Broken rib girl is moving very little and not her lower 1/3 after the breaks, so hopefully there will be faster healing and then she can be placed in a pet home or go live with my mom :) Yes, my 67 year old mom loves Ball Pythons, ever since I brought Buddy home back in 1984. The small one has now eaten two F/T rats, and the badly scarred big girl has eaten once F/T rat. THe other two have not been offered food yet but soon. Thanks for all the kind words and support!

It's not a good sign if she's not moving her lower 1/3. I know someone who lived in Los Alamos who kept a half-paralyzed snake alive and apparently happy for years by helping it poop every other week or so. But I'm pretty worried about your girl.

Broken rib girl seems better, will move just prefers not to. RI girl took a turn for the worse and we have been nebulyzing antibiotic for 4 days and and isnt not worse and might be better. The smallest one has eaten a few times F/T and the largest badly scared girl has eaten one less time F/T. Paypal has now awarded me the refund I requested.

I get an email from him today entitled Paypal Claim. I didnt even read it. RI girl seems better but has still refused to eat. Gonna try an ASF soon. THe smallest one shed and what was thought to be a stuck eye cap is actually just a really badly damaged eye. So two of them, her and the biggest one both have non useable eyes.
