    From what I can tell it's really never *too late* to pop a BP, I have a male that I bought 12 yrs ago as a farmed hatchling never really had intentions of breeding until this time last year. Popped him and what do ya know.. Hemipenes. I have BP's ranging from 100-2500 grams, all have been popped and confirmed via probe.
