    My YB is the same way and she's about 7 months old or so.

    I'm to quietly lay down the rat, close the lid and buzz off so she can pick it up and carry it into her hide to eat in private.


    She's only "grabbed" a couple of times since I've had her.

    My semi-rescue Peggy, however, is so shocked that she actually gets fed every single week nearly knocks the tongs out of my hand and lunges for her food so hard that she flips her hide off of herself and smacks into the side of her tub.

    Poor thing just hasn't come to realize that she will always have food, yet.

    When out, she's as sweet as honey and calm as can be, though.

    I know I'm a lot less worried about the baby, now.

    Thanks to everybody's reassurances that she isn't as fragile as she seems and the joy of her eating with no problems, I'm pretty confident now that she's going to be okay....:)

    [but she's still so tiny!]
