I'm not a fan of the whole "if it fits your macros" approach. Yes track your macros but don't eat a snickers bar because it fits into daily macros. Healthy filling foods are rocket fuel for the body.

I started on a very strict medical diet in February this year, and while it doesn't bother me much, I'm in nearly the same place you're in. I didn't originally do it to lose weight, but it's been a nice side effect.
I'm 5'2, and the last time I was comfortable with my weight was when I was 145 lbs (I'm very dense and muscular). In February, I weighed 216, and I now weigh 180. That's thirty six pounds that I've lost, and I still haven't lost a pants size (I'm still a 38").
I also suffer from depression, so I just use my natural hard headedness to push myself forward. I just tell myself that I haven't failed until I've given up. If you think it will help, I can post pictures of me at my peak weight, and where I am now. The diet I'm on cuts out all grains and most other carbs. I understand that this may not be the healthiest thing for everyone, but it's nearly solved my unique digestive problems. I wish you the best of luck!
