Mine is usually burrowed under the cool hide with her head sticking out.

What a beauty! I have been in constant research mode and have been deciding and then changing my mind and making it again. I've gone through the list:

RTB (just gonna be too big I think),

Blood Python (hear more bad than good but perfect size)

Hog Island (nothing bad just smaller than I'd like)

Dumerils boa (perfect size even if on large end, great demeanor, maybe not as active in tank but great outside)

What I'd like to see is if anybody has pictures of them (Dumerils) in a display type enclosure.

Aaron, I haven't heard from you for a bit, but I saw your BP setups and they were great. I'm looking to maybe shoot for adult size setup right away and provide several hides and comfort zones if needed to balance the size of the larger tank. Are there any decent tanks that are not $300 or more? I have the "Boaphile" guy not far from me and could look there, but my downfall is I like the glass tanks and have had EXCELLENT luck with the 40 gal we have for the BP. I've put a lot of work into insulating it and have what I think is a great humidity system.

But if any of you have Dumerils tank pics I'd love to see them.

I love the fact that the above pic has a ground boa in branches. Fun setup and pretty snake.

I'm shooting to get a 1 or 2 yr old female.

Here's the set up for my female Dumeril's. It's just an Animal Plastic's T-10 cage (4'x2'x15").

Pretty snake! Definitely on my "to get someday" list! I love their pattern (it reminds me of anchors).

That is a nice set up. Is she full grown, and roughly how much was the cage?

Yes pictures of display cages for Dumeril's would be great!!! I have mine in a 28 qt tub right now, but I plan on moving her into a 4X2X1 enclosure fully grown.

If you go to a reptile show in your area, look at enclosures there, I got a great quality 4X2X1.5 enclosure that is made out of the same stuff animal Plastics uses (I bought it used of course) for 100$! Which is a great deal. So check some Reptile shows when they're near you :gj:

Just remember, Dumeril's are super sloooowwwww growers. For example my Dumeril's is 132 grams and she is a year and a half old.
My BP is 712 and she's 7 months old lol

Thanks. She will be 3yo in September and is over 5ft. She has quite a bit of growling left. When I got her she was just under 4ft. I'm figuring she'll grow maybe a foot a year until she maxes out around 7/8ft.

The cage was $195 but I got a few upgrades that brought it up to $270 NOT including shipping. Animal Plastic cages are a bit pricy but worth every penny. http://www.animalplastics.com/
