Vent to your grandma who has no idea who he/she is , or get a diary. Posting here, like everyone said does you no good. Hope everyone is safe from this breeder, or your too uptight about the packaging. (alot of uptight's out there)

You should buy a diary, OP.

i don't believe this snake would be from a a big name breeder. if it was a big name breeder they would of done everthing right because after all their reputation depends on the customers satisfaction one mistake is alot to a well known breeder.

What does that mean, 'uptight' about the packaging? There's really a limited number of ways to legitimately package a reptile.

1) Insulated box. This does two things--it protects the animal from temperature extremes and sudden changes, and it helps keep the box crush-proof. It's required by Fed Ex regulations. So, insulated box is not optional.

2) Snake bag or deli cup. If the box gets a gaping hole torn in it by some piece of machinery along the way, you don't want the animal to take off. It's also required by Fed Ex regulations. Not optional.

3) Crumpled paper or other good padding. This prevents the animal from slamming around inside the package when it's tossed around by handlers. So, it prevents the animal from being injured, and thus, is not optional.

4) Correct marking. Both Fed Ex and in the US, the Federal Lacey Act, require the box to be marked, on the outside, to indicate that it contains a live animal. Doubly NOT optional.

So again, what does 'uptight about packaging' mean? That a person receiving an animal wants the shipment to NOT MAKE THEM A CRIMINAL when they receive it, and they want the shipment to protect the animal from harm or escape?
If that's uptight, I really, really wish everyone was totally uptight....don't you?

Listen, I understand you want to vent. That isn't the issue, the issue is that if he's a known breeder many may buy from him and get screwed over. Think about that! You're just as bad as him!!! There, that's my venting.:rage:

this is a very accurate statement. The little clicks and people talking out of their hind ends make BOI unbearable, to me.

Very upsetting, but as someone who is still shopping around for my first BP (esp with larger, well know breeders) information like this is a MUST. I came to this community to learn from the BOOTS ON THE GROUND to get into the hobby.

This is like a young lady who is assaulted by a date, then refuses to tell anyone to protect HIS reputation. It serves no purpose. If you're afraid of retribution, I guess that's your business.

Is there perhaps a more tactful way to do this in the future? Maybe create a burner account with the blessing of a mod to put out the name anonymously?

I would like to know, also. Even if just to be aware of it. It isn't fair to the rest of us for you to withhold the information. Seriously not cool. Man up already! Put on your big girl panties! You gave us 99% of the information but without giving us a name this whole thread was pointless and annoying.
