I am in elk grove. I have emailed him a bunch of times. I have absolutely no problems with someone selling their animals, as I am a business and do the same. However, when someone claims to be a non profit reptile rescue and then sells animals for hundreds of dollars and claims they have genetics that they don't, that's an issue. First of all, claiming your a non profit rescue is illegal if you are not in fact a 501c. The second thing is selling a lesser, then a lesser ghost, then a lesser woma that are all the same exact snake is lying and wrong. Especially when you have someone in the industry contact you and let you know that your selling an animal that isn't what your advertising. If they want to be a reptile rescue then fine, do it the right way. Asking $600 for normal red tail Boas and an additional $200 for an enclosure for them is not a "rehoming" or "adoption" fee, its a selling price. If you are taking in unwanted reptiles for free or for a small delivery fee (as they state) and turn around and sell it for hundreds more, that's wrong. Doing it under the reuse of a non profit orginization is illegal.

I also emailed the 'rescue' politely informing him of the mis- labeled animal.

I got this in reply, "we had a ball python specialist come down its not like we are maken it up."

    *cough* specialist *cough*

    (And yes...he said "maken".......)

Exactly, when I emailed him and politely explained it wasn't what he said it was, he told me they took it to a pet store and got the genetics checked out. He even asked me if I would be their ball python consultant in the future. In no way shape or form do I want to be associated with these people.

In his other ads he can't even spell Burmese, he spells it bermease. These are flat out ignorant scam artists looking to make a quick buck off people who don't know any better. These poor animals are going to suffer because of it.

Only way to know what it is, is to breed it and see... and that's always fun :D

I hope he didn't try to probe it himself. Serp is definitely the place to go. I am in there a few times a week buying supplies and feeders.
