2) I've heard really good things about Outback Reptiles. All the bad rap seems to be from the past. And Outback has made good contributions to Ball Python morph development. They produced the first and only Panda Pied to date.
3) From my experience of past shows here in Norcal, the vendors generally give pretty good deals. I got a female pastel for $100 at the last Sacramento show from Heather Wong. I saved at least $100-$150 total between general normal retail pastel female price(~$150-200) + shipping($50). And my friends who own a reptile shop in Lodi always have good deals on their animals during shows.
Oh wow had no idea you were from around here! Nice to meet you :). Just curious where did you get your snakes from for your albino pin project? And can you recommend any local breeders?

Nice to meet you too!
I'm starting from the ground up w/ my albino pin project. I have morph hets for other projects, but I really wanted to start from the very beginning w/ my albino pin one so I really just have is a pin and an albino. (One is from a local breeder the other is from Florida).
Local breeders that I highly recommend (no particular order):
I've dealt with 3-4 in the Sacramento Area and 3 in the Bay Area.
- Cary Nathan (Roseville). Nice examples of morphs. Knowledgeable and helpful.
- Robert Seib (Walnut Creek). He has a lot of high end morphs. Very knowledgeable and experienced. Retired UC Berkeley Herp Professor.
- Brian Gundy (San Jose area). One of the local "famous" breeders around. He is really knowledgeable and is very helpful. Gives great advice, especially breeding advice. He just gave a Ball Python Breeding seminar 2 months ago at the Central Valley Herp Society. Specializes in mojaves and pieds.
I don't think I'll go back to the rest of the other breeders I've met. They're more interested in money than the welfare of their animals.
I also have a few local friends in Sacramento that breed as well.
So if you want any ones contact info, just let me know.
