Like everyone else I'm shocked. I know very little about this hobby, as I'm still very new to it, and even I can see that the eyes are damaged. It would crush me if I saw my baby in that condition and I'm sure your heart is aching as well. Please do keep us informed of her progress.

I advised her to up the temps and humidity and take the snake to the vet asap if it looks that bad... Next day she calls and says she got the crusty eyes off herself and sent me these pictures... I offered to take her back and get her to a vet once I am back in town but for now I dont know what to tell her... I think she might have removed the new eye cap :(

The First Photo is how she looked before I found her a new home :/ which I really regret doing now...

Like previously mentioned, this does not make sense. I can speculate on how it happened but do explain for clarification.

Like everyone else I am horrified by the damage done to her eyes, but I too believe she has a fully retained shed in those pictures.

If that isn't a retained shed, I don't what to know what she applied to that snake to make it look that way.

Can you get us some updates pictures ? Does she still look all dull and wrinkly like she still needs to shed ?

My het pied female, who is hopefully going to have eggs for me soon, has one blind eye like this. My husband decided she had a retained eye cap a while back when I was not home. He then proceeded to remove it. He was all proud of himself until I got home and he told me. As soon as I saw her I knew what he had done and I proceeded to chew him a new you-know-what. He doesn't mess with the snakes when they shed after that, he lets me do it. Toki will always be blind in that eye, but it doesn't affect her much.

We took in a rescue some time back that was in shed and a few days later went back into shed. So it can happen, especially if they are injured or sick. Also consider the possibility that the OP might have only got one of the stuck sheds off the first time around and didn't realize there was another stuck one.

Oh man the poor thing looks terrible. She really needs to soak that snake! Maybe once the snake is soaked enough to get that shed off you will be able to see what damage has or hasn't been done. She's so pretty :(

    To Clarify

"She calls me saying it has a bad shed so I come over and remove the leftovers, including retained eye caps (gave her a good soak and it all came off in the soaking tub)...4 days later she calls again saying the snakes eyes are crusty and blue again."

I am guessing that this retained shed had been on for quite a while and she just neglected to notice or just chose not to do anything about it. Its very unlikely that the snake shed and shed again 4 days later (I should have been more clear).

Update on the lil gal, she has been to the vet and yes, the live spectacles are damaged and there is a definite chance of blindness. Will post updated pics soon, she is already looking a lot better and had a clean shed other than eyes after soaking and adequate housing for a few days. Amazing what good temps and humidity will do! Once again she is never leaving my sight.
