I have dogs that take care of the critters in the yard. Including moles - one of my dogs digs them up, kills them and brings them to the door, just like a cat. Moles are so distructive to the yard - killing a few tends to drive them off to someone elses yard.

My dogs also do a good job dispatching mice and rats that escape in the snake room. They catch them much faster than the live traps do..... Is that much different than feeding my snakes? Half the time they eat the rodent.

I think it is a touch hypocritical to slam somone for killing a mole, when we raise and breed snakes and reptiles that eat other animals. Even if you feed f/t someone had to kill that animal......

Re: Look what the cat dragged out
It's adorable and though I personally would have returned it to yard, I know many people see them as pests. It's just a cycle of life. We all kill rats/mice to feed our snakes and even if the cat doesn't eat it, other critters will.

Eventually the baby whale grew too tired to resurface and drowned. The pod of killer whales swam away giving each other high fives. Just sayin, humans and cats aren't the only douchebags on this planet.

Actually, killer whales will eat off the baby that they kill. It's been documented numerous times and that baby will feed the entire pod. Sometimes the filming crews/boats/activity will drive a predator away from its kill though.

Wow, forgot about this and didn't realize it had gotten more replies. As to why I let the cat have it back, it just wasn't something I thought about. I've grown up with outdoor cats that took care of vermin on the property (rats, mice, moles, etc) so I wasn't particularly focused on saving it. If it had been a bird or whatever else, would've done the same thing.

Didn't mean to offend, I suppose it's a mentality difference. I don't own any cats currently (it was a room mate's cat) and I don't plan to, I like my reptiles. Should I get a feline of my own I may think about it more
