Eventually, if they're not stopped.
The "animal rights" people want all our animals dead because it's "cruel to enslave them".
[what a joke that is....I don't see anybody in this house bringing me my every meal, tending my every need, bathing me, grooming me and practically wiping my butt...who's the real 'slave'?]

It's true, though--any breed of pig will change dramatically in appearance once it goes feral. Why is not fully understood, but a feral pig becomes hairy, dark, and its facial structure changes--it goes from a dished face, to a flat face like a wild boar has. These changes occur in only one generation--that nice, white, hairless pig will give birth to little hairy beasts with flat faces, if it's living in the wild. In fact, it won't stay hairless--it WILL grow thick hair, once it is living wild. She'll never look entirely like a feral hog--but her offspring will.
Genetic atavism?
Even our dogs are only a few mixed litters away from being Dingos and wolves.
:D
Wish you'd seen the herd of hogs the guy back the road used to have.
They weren't feral but they were basically left to their own devices all year long, save the odd feeding of grain once in a while.
They had run of a 50 acre field with woods and you couldn't have paid me to step across that electric fence..even when the sows didn't have litters.
They were hairy, dark, huge and lanky and very 'independent'.
The boars had incredible tusks.

there has been invasions on farmers that are produces cows milk, and not pasteurizing it. Which is a very normal thing, as people have been drinking straight up milk, and never had any issues on it. My wife for example, drank it all the time, as she lived on a dairy farm. So, a friend of mine is going to provide us with some raw milk when his cows are ready. Where I live, it's been an on going debate, and I believe something was just passed (in Canada, at least in one Province). I provided a link to give you all an idea. As for the invasion on pigs...wtf. Is this due mostly with the out break of Hogs in the lower states, or am I missing something?

sounds to me, that these hogs/pigs, were free run pigs, and not housed up in a facility that is meant to produce produce produce, and having free pigs, may cause harm to the outside environment, if they were to break out. Brutal, as the farmer had built his fences strong enough to contain his animals.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the only reason you can drink raw milk at all is because of a government program to test and kill all cattle in the US with Brucellosis. The Government has been killing infected cattle with brucellosis for nearly 100 years. The Government killing farm animals is really nothing new but I haven't heard of it being done before for reasons other then eradicating diseases.

Yup. You can get a bunch of things from unpasteurized milk and Brucellosis is only one of them.

The reason they do this to pigs is because of their ability to adapt to living in the wild so quick and thrive.
Is this ridiculous? Yes I think so. I can't believe some of the things that people think are right. Raising hogs or pigs is such a huge source of food for our country and a way of living for so many people.
