wow, i must be wrong then cuz me...
i check his enclosure every day (29h tank) and whenever i see pee, or poop, i spot clean that and replaces with fresh bedding (aspen), change his water and clean his water dish before doing so every 2 days, and i do a COMPLETE clean, when ever i stick my nose in the tank (even after a spot clean) and it stinks, which is about every 4-6 months. I have owned Vic since may of last year and i have only done a COMPLETE clean twice, as in it really stinks in there and it has to be done, with chlorhexedine. Then Again when i spot clean i tend to replace a huge amount of bedding with fresh bedding, and also spraying it down with healthy habitat and wiping that spot down. So maybe thats why it takes so long before it actually REALLY stinks in there.

I use newspaper and spit clean whenever I see urates or feces. Just crumple up and replace. Every few months I do the complete tub scrubbing.

Cypress mulch in all of our tubs. Check everyone daily and spot clean when needed, change water if its dirty or atleast once a week and full cleaning every 1-2 months depending on how "dirty" the kids have been.
