I also have training in survival and first aid as i was a bear and moose guide for many years. I also have pretty extensive weapons training in my back ground so i will take my chances being mobile and living off the land as far north as i can get if something was to happen. Spending all this effort on 72 hour bug out bags and stockpiling stuff in one location is pointless. Now i have a hunting cabin at the foot of.mt katahdin in maine that i will head too and if it gets real bad i know that mountain like the back of my hand so im sure me and mine will be just fine. But come on people, zombies? Hahahahah
Hey now. I never said I believe it will happen. But I can hope. It certainly wouldnt be fun but i would rather have to kill somebody because they are deranged or mentally not there, than somebody who wants to kill me for territorial or political disputes. I can also hope that crazy things like dragons were to suddenly exist. This is entirely different from actually thinking it will or is ever possible.
Call it a morbid interest, but thinking of insane illogical things such as zombies is interesting. I also think of things like my position in a room if something were to happen, or plan of action if there were a fire, for example. Doesn't mean I expect a crazed gunman will come in any second to kill me, but I do enjoy thinking through the improbable. Its interesting, and sometimes fun.

It doesn't take Zombies to cause an apocolypse. New Orleans after Katrina was on the edge of social breakdown. Extend that same scenario over an additonal three weeks, and you have humans killing each other for food and water.
The ironic part of being a prepper is that if you truly prep better than the next guy, you won't have anyone to brag about it to...

I have 18 years of hunting under my belt. 10 of which is rough style camping in woods fir 1-2 weeks. We brought no food only water. We ate when we shot our meals for the day.
I dont need guns to survive, i have my trusty leatherman tool, machette and smith and wesson pocket knife. The guns just give the extra edge on protection to stop threats long range before giving up your loaction when their right ontop of you. And close range the knife is your best friend to stay out of sight.
Also dont fotget my compound bow as well as crossbow.
