Don't knock it till you try it. :D. I started with tanks and thought they would be fine. Just switched to tubs, 1000x better for 1000 reasons.....

Hmmmm I might have to try it when my BP outgrows her 20 gallon. Do you have any brands/types of tubs you recommend? Also, is it not a concern that the plastic will start melting having a UTH on the bottom?

if you are using a thermostat with the UTH (which is mandatory regardless) then no.
For bigger tubs I like the Vision V-70 (41 quart) but they need to be in a rack as they do not have lids. for stand alone tubs most people use Sterilite brand tubs that can be purchased at Target among other places.

Popular brands are Rubbermaid, Sterilite, and IRIS.
IRIS is great because they never change tub styles. Rubbermaid and Sterilite change their tubs all the time, so if you get a rack, it'll be hard to replace the exact tub.
The plastic will not melt as long as you regulate your UTH with a thermostat.
Edit: Aaron beat me again! LOL
Re: Humidity is too high in my tub
Yep, we have steralite from Target. So long as you have thermostat which is a must, your tubs should not melt. Flexwatt on a herpastat is amazing. Stupidly I was concerned with tubs melting from heat. My husband so kindly pointed out to me, that if its 90 degrees outside, plastic things don't melt do they? I tend to worry too much about nothing...
