I keep care sheets for all my snakes, notes on if I had a problem what I did to fix it, receipts for products, and a few random things here and there.

I personally use Metzcal software to track my BPs. It has everything you would ever want to track...EVER. Including an address book with businesses and I even created a list for "Good Guys" and people I will never deal with. It's pretty useful and I am definitely more of a digital gal. Binders are fun and you can add personal touches but when it comes down to it, electronic records with back ups are always better.

It also comes in handy to use digital software when you are selling a snake; you can copy and paste info into a "packet" for your customer that has poop, shed and feed records along with a generated animal ID page with genetics and all that fun stuff (this is my own creation and not Metzcal's).

As for other records I keep on my BPs, I've been keeping a profit & loss on file so I can see how much I'm spending and earning on my snakes and I also have my own rat breeding tracking worksheet that keeps track of what rat bred with which one, how many babies were in a litter a rat has produced, how many litters a particular rat has produced and it also autocalculates how many available feeders I have (I have to update every so often when they grow to a bigger size).

Some might think I'm swimming in paperwork and tracking but realistically, it's all much simpler than it sounds. But I am a girl that likes her data! :D

yes, i have 6 sections right now

    1. ball pythons, they each have their own page, with their number and/ or name, sex, morph, DOB, and DOP
    2. feeding and shedding/ weighing, i weigh when they shed
    3. is where any other snakes i will get will be, and the things i have in 1. and 2. are combined on one page.
    4. health, just for records of anything that may happen to each snake
    5. snakes i want to buy, listed by priority lol
    6. future breeding plans

if i ever get a large collection, i will probably draw a diagram of the racks with who is where, but i only have four snakes, and they all look quite different from one another so its pretty easy to tell who is who

and i definitly like tracking on paper alot more than the computer, i do have an iherp, but im not sure if im going to bother keeping it
