Thank you for linking to those pictures, Cally! She is beautiful. I think she may be the oldest BP I've ever seen pictures of and I'm starting to rethink some of the things I've been told about how these snakes fade as they get older. Her color is sharp and bold!

Have you owned her for her whole life?

Thanks so much for the compliments, she just shed so she is at her best color wise. Yes I have had her since she was little bitty. 22 years is a long time, I actually don't remember if I got her 90 or 91. Im guessing she was wild caught (I didn't know any better then). I was lucky to have a great herp vet even way back then growing up in New Orleans. She has been in many cage variations, I even made her a wooden cage with a glass front door myself that was a disaster until my father couldn't watch anymore and helped me out. Now she's in a 40 breeder. I would like to put a bit of weight on her, her appetite has slowed down, so I am keeping a close eye on that. But thanks again for the compliments!!

Cally, that's an awesome story! We always say these animals can live for 20+ years, but we hardly ever get to hear stories or see pics from snakes and keepers who have achieved that milestone. You have obviously taken superior care of her, and I look forward to learning from your experience here on the forum.
