I voted 'cut to help survive'
This being my first clutch I originally planned to not cut, but since the eggs have been thru brief phases of hell early on I probably am going to cut. I'm still hoping and praying that theres no complications with any of the babies, and I will let some of them pip on their own first of course, but I want to make sure they all make it or at least have the best/easiest route out of their eggs.

I didn't cut at all at first.. until my second clutch when a bumblebee put a tiny slit in the egg... and then drowned! Now I cut religiously at day 54.

We cut after the first one pips because they are done incubating.

I cut regardless at day 55. Ive had twisted cords in the past and its alot easier to deal with the sooner you see it.

This year I cut at day 54. The reason I cut was because the shells where denting and tough. I didn't think the babies could come out on their own without a bit of help. I also candled while I was cutting so I didn't hit any major blood vessels. I had only one eggs show any signs of blood after I cut and that was a very small amount. I took a bit of a peek but didn't poke at them so only saw a bit and not sure exactly what I got. I am excited to see what comes out of the eggs. I want them out NOW :D but I can wait now that I know they can come out in their own sweet time.

We cut after they start pipping. Just a little slit or V shape. We don't do the whole giant window/top 1/3 or so off the top that some folks do. Just enough to to help them get out and monitor any possible problems.
