i build this cage alone..
    c ya

first off the lights, heat and such should be out side the enclosure.
i would advise to use epoxy to coat wood, and build burrows from either cement, fiberglass epoxy, or vivarium mortar.

i would also suggest two layer so substrate, one for the plants that is soil based and the top layer of hardpack clay based dirt.

i would also suggest that you include vent fans in the sides of the cage to blow air across the grasss. I would close the top off with a nice hood. our cages start off as basis cages from http://www.cagesbydesign.com measured
at the right size, back and sides wood, then coated and a hood to match. simple.

as for the plants, there are lot out there but we chose ours from a nursery that focuses on grassess and such, a few are from Ghana, then we add bacteria to help with waste management, and salmonella. lots of light!!!!
three 10,000k lumen lights for our tanks or the grass won't make it.

our cages are either wood; 1/4" bich plywood, Cages By Design, PVC with sliding glass front doors and 1/2" steal screen top for the lights but never a fish tank. you want front opening, and sides of solid material. holds heat better and won't spook the snakes if you're reaching in.

heck just read our book out in june 06.
