it could be a number of things: maybe it was a messy breakup/divorce. maybe somebody went to jail....maybe they weren't hers to begin with and wants nothing to do with them after the move...either way, we aren't here to judge..congratulations and good luck on a fast recovery! Beautiful snakes!

This is just crazy! I work in animal control here in Minnesota and have only gotten two snakes in the last five years. One was crawling into a gas station. (still have her) the other was left in a trailer home. (normal male)

I don't disbelieve it. It amazes me what weird decisions people will make, but it doesn't surprise me at all that someone would choose to spend $50K on snakes when they can't make their house payments. Maybe the original owner thought she was gonna breed them and make her payments with their babies ...

To the OP, sounds like you're doing everything right (re: QT, vet checks) and will reap the rewards of someone else's mistake while doing a good deed for the animals! :gj:

You're very lucky to get those animals, I hope they thrive for you! I also can't help but feel sorry for their previous owner, I don't know anybody who would willingly abandon such animals.

    Wow absolutely amazing pick up!!!!!

The person that gave them away must have no clue they could have easily asked 10k for the collection to at least give them some funds to start their life over.

Goes to show you this hobby is very addicting and you don't want to spend your life savings or get in debt over purchasing snakes. I know I started with 2 a few years ago and the collection has steadily grown on a monthly basis. :)

I honestly don't doubt this at all like some people are. I'm surprised by how surprised some people are regarding other people's stupidity. I work in public safety so I guess I never underestimate the stupidity of some people lol

Anyways, congrats on the pickup, however, the people saying this is like a lottery? I disagree. Although she took these guys on for "free", they are not actually free. Because of the condition they are in, she mentioned RIs, she has to pay for vet bills for these guys, and is also taking on a huge commitment taking on sick snakes and with little known about their background. Although you see "morphs for free" it's really much more than that. I commend you for taking on this physical and financial responsibility to care for these snakes, morphs or not. Congrats. :gj:

They were free and sure she will be spending a nice chunk of change to get them back to health (assuming they all pull through). W.e the case is I'm sure her expenses won't be half of what they are worth.. Again congrats!
