Other things you take to a "Geek" level

Magic the Gathering, Aquariums, Fly fishing, Mineral collecting, Video Games, Comics, Anime. I'm pretty geeky but no one knows it at first.

Other than reptiles, I guess it would be computer programming and design, playing COD Black Ops (Zombies) and reading far too many books.

That is easy, for me it is Roller Derby.

I played briefly on the men's league, I officiate and am a referee for the Montreal Roller Derby League (women's league), I belong to a rec league, and I practice around 4x a week, just depending on what else I have going on in my life.

I have had days where I sit down and realize that I have skated for ten days or more without taking a break.

I heard one of the derby girls say that "being part of derby means you can go anywhere in the world and meet people that 'get it' and you are not the only freak"... (or something close enough to that).

I think that goes for any hobby, people that 'get it' don't need it explained, they just smile and nod. Snake enthusiasts come to mind. :)

I'm quite obsessed with Dean Koontz books. I have over half of the books he's written so far and buy more each time I see one I do not have.

Other than that, I'd say I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to cars. :oops: I watch all of the classic car auctions on t.v. and go to all of the local car shows when they're in town. I'm completely obsessed with my 1986 BMW 535i. I have plans for this car that will take me years to complete and thousands of dollars. The car itself isn't even worth a couple hundred, but it's a classic and I couldn't imagine having to drive anything else. I love cars. :rolleyes:

i used to do w.o.w too but we just couldnt afford keeping 2 accts active so i gave up on mine and made characters on my bf's acct then summer came & between taking care of my kids & the house i had no time for it. my bf keeps stopping & starting with it, saying he wont go back to it but ends up on again in a couple months. he's got 8 end game toons 4-lvl 80's & 4 lvl 85's. he devotes way too much time to that dang game! :rolleye2:

I'm a computer programmer. Need I say more? :rofl: I work on computers and play wow... I also love museums. My sister and I traveled to Europe last year to check out the sites and museums. It was pretty awesome.

I know the feeling on that. I've been reading Car & Driver since I was about 12, and when I finally got around to buying a car (went without for a long time for financial and need vs want reasons), it was an Audi A4. I've got all kinds of plans for the car that I can't afford at all. Clearly, it "needs" 18" RS4 wheels (or something else classy looking) to enable a big brake setup, a sport suspension, an APR Stage 1+ flash & bigger injectors (or if I'm really rich, a big turbo setup), a Podi boost gauge, an upgraded diverter valve (anybody used the Synchronic? Looks cool...), and apart from the wheels, that's just the non-cosmetic stuff. :)

I have a weakness for D&D. Cost a small fortune updating all my books to 4.0:oops:

I also have collected marvel comics and cards since I was in the third grate (I'm 28 now). My son (Logan) will have a plethora to enjoy when he's older.

My husband and I are pretty geek but most wouldn't know it at first... unless they hear Weird Al's 'White and Nerdy' blaring from the car (eh, no one's perfect).:rolleyes:

I would Have to say cars and......Pokemon card collecting ( originals only!) Im hardcore into dangerous sports and will be getting into drifting soon. I'm picking up a 1988 Mazda rx7 to swap either a ls1 Chevy v8 into or a 2jz-gtte supra motor in. My goal HP is 850-1000. But I'm Not sure yet because to much power can suck for drifting. Plus the 475 that my 89 camaro put out was pretty scary on the highway. :p

Nice bimmer. My first car was a 1988 735i, my second was a 1993 525i which is now my sisters, my dad has a 1976 2002 which he completely customized and dropped about $7k into the engine alone, and I Just helped my sisters boyfriend pick up a 1995 338i. Lets just say we prefer foreign vehicles. :)
