I just want to point out that the limit is NOT exactly 21 years. It's "21 years plus containment"...which means at the end of 21 years, they reevaluate and decide whether or not to hold him longer. That's not the same thing at all as assuming he'll automatically be let go after a score of years.

    You used the word stupid.

    Truth hurts.

If it's not what you meant to say, you shouldn't have said it.

Thinking before speaking/writing is a handy thing for not looking stupid.

Thank you for explaining it further for me!

Sometimes thinking twice is better than thinking once. Makes me wonder about thinking thrice, but that's a whole lot of effort.

However, what you meant may not have been what I thought you meant. Written doesn't always convey the same as spoken.

Stupid is a strong word. It has a strong meaning. However again, that is my take on that word which may not be universal; isn't if truth be told. My irritation at word usage, without thought enough on my part to justify that irritation, shouldn't clutter threads. It's no secret that not everyone thinks as I do nor do they hold the same meanings for words as I. I'm fairly literal as a rule.

So, while I don't think calling a system of justice which neither of us, I'm assuming on your part, have any personal knowledge of, stupid is not the best choice of words, it may have been for you. Or maybe you meant something less, some degree of intelligence lacking that is not really stupid so much as incredulous or perhaps foolish. Don't know, doesn't really matter.

Personally I think the guy should be eliminated. Doubtless some will think that stupid or foolish or ignorant. Doubtless some won't. Don't know, doesn't really matter.

Having given the exchange here a second perusal, I just wanted to clear that up.
