Vincent if hungry could easily strike the cat one day and throw coils around its neck, and it would not be easy to seperate them, the cat I am sure would fight back if this happened, it would not end well... Snakes feeding response is almost entirely instinctual and so it does not really matter how docile the snake is, if the snake feels like prey is near and it is hungry, it will strike, thats all there is to it...
And consider the level of damage a single bite from a cat would cause to a snake, even if not bitten on the head, the cats long sharp teeth could easily lay the snake open right down to the spine, I have seen rats do this, and their teeth do not equal the destructive potential of your cats dentition...
I think it is fairly unlikely that these animals will hurt each other, however almost all of my long term pet owning friends seem to have that story about how one day, they did that thing they knew wouldn't ever be a problem and their snake/lizard/pet rat/etc ended up dying or hurt. One guy lost his boa to a rat biting his snake right in the face. My friend lost a corn snake forever in her apartment, right after she'd just found a previous one she'd lost! Another killed multiple pet insects due to neglect and I've seen people bring in perfectly 'healthy' birds that died of heart attacks due to awful diets. I've been guilty of bad keeper mistakes that have killed 2 of my own animal as well, though it's murky whether I would have been able to prevent one of them. He may have had cancer and was a very old snake. And all of those deaths were from people not doing what they should have and eliminating the risks.
Both these animals are yours, so it's totally your call! I just know it's really depressing to lose a pet because you ignored a problem, or assumed it would be ok because you've done it plenty times before. Not trying to chew you out, the movie is cute, but it makes me nervous, mostly because the snake doesn't look happy at all about getting his head touched. I don't disbelieve that it is possible for them to co-exist peacefully, but I also don't believe in taking risks with my pets anymore after learning some hard lessons...
