Looks like something that has gone septic

To me it looks like it had mites. The mites will get under the scales and feed off the blood of the snake. Once they're killed there can still be red marks from the blood of the area that the mite was feeding on. Its not noticable on other snakes because of their color but on a white snake it shows like that. Even if it sheds there can still be red marks because of this until they fully heal. I'd be willing to bet your friend had mites while having him.

i agree with this direction, they almost look like bruises rather than infected areas. Kinda like when you get bit up by chiggers and when they're almost healed you've just got the discoloration.

I know they he had mites when he got back to me. That is why I put him in a cage that I had treated with PAM. He doesn't seem to be sheding any faster than usual and is acting fine. He has always been a spotty eater but has eaten since I got him back (though he lost weight while they had him).

IMO thoes look like bed bug bites a woman at work had them and on a person thats what they looked like they bite in patches of 3`s sometimes one bug can bite 50 times in one feed :O This is just what it looks like to me Ive never seen a mite bite on a snake so I cant compare Look up bed bug bite pictures and you will see what I am saying on how they bite in sections like that I hope its not because if the snake travelled with them they are buggers to get rid of :mad:

Some sort of bug bite is what I keep coming back to.

Mites I cannot say as I do not have any snakes light enough to see mite bites.

But tick bites, chigger bites, flea bites, mosquito bites all look pretty much exactly like this when seen on a human.

I believe if it were me, I would be taking this animal to a vet straight away. Maybe it's nothing, but it could be serious, then I'd feel awful knowing I could have caught it sooner and decided to wait.

I'd say thats your problem then. I can almost guarantee thats why he's got those spots.

you need to take him to the vet and send the bill for it to the people that had your snake, it is their fault, whatever it may be
