Re: We're getting close
Hi,
Then again lets not as name calling earns you infractions on this forum.
There really aren't that many snakes being left out to die - and if they are it's by people who frankly didn't care enough to learn about the animals properly.
Which means they would hardly be likely to be on this forum. Shouting at the people who care doesn't get the message accross to those that don't.
Also don't get too hung up on what they do in the wild as the standard to aspire to - they also get sick, stressed, attacked, starve and die in the wild a vastly greater amount than they ever do in captivity.

Snakes are derived of over 10,000 muscles. Stop calling people idiots before you open your mouth, get the facts right then make your point. 12 years of vet school and 30 years of working with reptiles, I can state the facts, as can others with out name calling. These snakes that are being bred will not make it in the wild. Out of 100 snakes released into the everglades, 2 survive. Thats a 98 % death rate. So once again, stop the name calling, get a life, learn your facts and then come back and talk to the experts.........At one time in life no animal was designed to be a pet, yet we still have dogs, cats, horses, cattle...etc,etc,etc..Have a good day

If you don't agree with animals being kept in captivity, why are you a member of a forum that promotes the hobby? Don't answer. It was more a rhetorical question to point out the hypocrisy so common with people like you.
I'm really not in the mood to get into philosophical arguments regarding the keeping of animals in captivity. From the quality of your post above it doesn't look like you're of the mental competence to engage in such a dialogue. I guess I'll continue to be one of the "thickos" (sickos with a lisp?) while you continue to fight the good fight. We've heard it all before. Obviously I and many others on this and other fora feel differently about keeping animals in captivity. Feel free to respond and call names. I'm sure you'll feel like a bigger person for doing so.
lol get er! OMG this person is Crazy! You need another hobby for reals! I dont think snakes care if they are captivated, as long as they are fed hydrated and comfortable, they are good! Your snake might be a little stressed though, having to listen to all your aimless Crap talking! Snake breeders have just as much a right to breed their pets as a dog breeder ect!
And if there is anyone on here who feels they have lost interest or can no longer provide a home for their slithery friend, Contact me!

This all sounds like postings on craigslist, please go somewhere else with your beliefs this site is designed to help outthose of us who need and want help not to hear those people who don't believe snakes should be pets, whine, moan and complain, because as children their daddy would not allow them to have pets or friends.

Re: We're getting close
Guys,
I posted in this thread in the hope it wouldn't turn into a dogpile in either direction.
There really is no need for it and, if it goes far enough, will result in the threead being locked.

Awww Dr. Del's no fun :( :D
But really guys, this is just getting silly. To call someone out for owning a pet that shouldn't be owned as a pet, when you own one yourself...interesting. Anyhow, many of the people that are on this site are breeders and keep their snakes in tubs, or smaller enclosures so there is no point in arguing the point. If snakes didn't thrive in smaller enclosure, breeders wouldn't keep them in smaller enclosures. I don't see anything wrong with that enclosure as long as it's kept clean.
To the OP, she's huge! Is it common for them to have 50 eggs? I saw another poster said something about their snake having 50. That's insane! And A LOT of rats!

They can have up to 60. Typically they have less. She has had about 30 the last couple times, but she's a bit larger now. I'm hoping for that much. Honestly I'd be happy with one. She'll probably drop somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.

Good grief that's crazy! You really have to have A LOT of space ready for all those babies. I'm pretty thankful bps have small clutches. I couldn't imagine preparing the room or the food for just one of those clutches!!! :rolleye2:

Yeah but ball pythons trick you. They are small and have small clutches. But fill up one rack with adult females and suddenly you're at the same number of eggs.
