Oh archery is so fun!!! I don't have a bow though :( My fiance has a compound that he goes hunting with, but I can't even pull it back! I would love to have a long bow, just to shoot for fun, but I can't find any used ones around here.

My brother is sending me his old compound bow, all i know so far is that its a PSE. And I order some arrows from 3 rivers today for the bow i have on order. this for me is as addicting as ball pythons. Its pretty cool that theres a lot of other bow people on this site. now if I just gat one of the grand kids to put a apple on there head. and find some of them green tights.

One thing i would of done was ordered arrows last. You need to get the bow set and tweaked for your comfort before ordering arrows. Most like to put on over draws to shorten the arrows to increase speed. If you can id cancel the arrow order till the bow is tweaked to your likings.

go to a bow shop and order arrows for the legth of your draw..this way you can pick fletching colors and knock colors... carbon arrows are way better than aluminum.. pse should still make arrows they where very nice when i used to shoot..
then have them tune it for you ..(paper tune)..
if the new bow is a two cam youll also need them to sync the cams.in the tune.
mark all poundage settings with a marker or paint pen .
i used to get alittle crazy fine tuneing a bow.. you might not have to do all that ..but i would def get it paper tuned!
most ranges have a speed limit. so you might look out for this. unless my range has raised the limit .it was 300 ibo

I used to target shoot with a recurve years ago. Over the years Ive had a couple crossbows, and I now have a compound that I still havent become strong enough to pull lol, but i totally dig archery. I would love to have a long bow ...like the ones Ive seen at the Renaissance Faire.

I tried archery when I was young...
...but my elbows are double jointed to the point where my forearms and my biceps make about a 20 or 30 degree angle *past* straight when fully extended. This means that when I release a bowstring, it's very common for it to smack me in the elbow, which hurts a lot. No archery for me; I guess I'll have to stick to firearms. :P
