    Awesome. Congrats! I don't know how long he took with his first lock, but I've heard from more than a few people that pieds are just lazy :) I guess they take their sweet time and have no real sense of urgency as a general personality trait. You'll have to let us know as a pied owner if you agree.

    The pied is the female in this case! But George (the black pastel male) did take a solid week or two to get a good lock. (And then several more to lock in such a way that I could photograph it.)

    re: lazy pieds... I have more than one pied, and I can state for a fact that they're not all lazy. They're not all slow growers, either!

    But the girl pictured here is a lazy one. In fact, she may very well be in the running for The World's Laziest Animal. It's kind of amazing.
