    Hi,

I'd also order a can of Provent-A-Mite and treat your entire collection as a precaution.

I hate to say it but possible infection + possible traveling parasites would make me extremely reluctant to keep the animals in question. You bought three snakes and have identified problems with each of them. Have you tried flipping the other two over to see how fast they right themselves?

Did the vet take any blood samples to check for infection?

I would also inspect all of them to see if you can see any mites - check the heatpits eyes, vent etc as well as looking in the waterbowls.

I would ship those snakes back as well....

however, RE is currently not shipping snakes.... so unless you are fedex certified, I don't know what your options are. Just adhere to the absolute strictest qtine possible!

I don't know how much of a big deal this is, and I dont want to be shouting stuff out on the BOI, but in his responce to me, he said the het red had the scar upon him picking it up at hamburg, yet I have emails of him answering my question 'did this happen in your care' with' yes. i did not see the mark upon pickup'

Now, he may have seriously not really seen it upon picking it up, but i dont know why he would tell me otherwise. He never sounded real sure as to what the scar was from, and I didnt really mak ea big deal b/c I didnt want a scarred animal- even tho it wouldnt have effected breeding or made the snake any less of a pet.

As far as this virus thing with the snake rolling over slower than usual... Was a culture done on this snake? Is the RI bacterial or viral? did th evet name the virus that causes this?

Really keep yourself clean- hand washing, hand sanitizer, dont share feeding tongs, tend to these snakes last. I would even try to do a mini qtine with the one that is sick and the others ( if you can't qtine her away from the others in qtine)- keep them as far away as possible, and always tend to the sick girl last.

Well, I am glad he at least took up the vet bill, but anyone who has no prob spending the money before the customer recieves the snakes and has them for the guaranteed heath timeline is not someone i wish to do business with.

I am very sorry you have to go through this. I wish you the very best!

I am not fedex certified yet :( I just got on Reptile Express after UPS bailed! They are all qtine'd. The two albino females are actually with a friend of mine, she payed for them and I paid for the male pin because I already have a few females for him. This friend is the one who bought them with me and she has suffered through all this crap too, and she is just getting into balls so it's really kind of disheartening for her.
