    Do what works for YOUR SNAKE. Keeping ball pythons is not an exact science, we give newbies the guidelines and advice based on what has worked best for us. For instance, my BPs like it a bit colder than recommended. I have to keep their cold sides down to about ~70-75* MAX, they are both rescues and never had heat previously. They like to be a bit chilly I guess, because if their temps get any higher than that they won't eat and cruise like crazy. Of course, they do both have a hot spot ~90-92* where they spend most of their time.

    It may take some time for you to figure out how your snake likes everything, but it sounds like you're doing everything right:gj:
