Lucky!! That's a beautiful baby bee! Oh and don't fret too much. You're a first timer. We all start somewhere. ;) :gj:
Re: Head is out but still no color?
Okay, hubby is leaving work in 30 minutes. Man, what a rollercoaster!
Re: Head is out but still no color?
The sooner you or your husband can take care of that wrapped umbilicus the better. There is some good information in this recent thread:

Good luck with everything, hopefully it's just a minor tangle!
Cheers,

Re: Head is out but still no color?
Okay, okay, no more panic. Whew.
Hubby untangled him and he's doing okay. More active than Freedom. His yolk is about the same size as Freedom's too which is interesting coz Freedom has been out a while.
And more news. The rest of the babies are out now too!
Looks like another normal and another... what? He has more black than Jack but not as much black as Freedom but he has that same pink head casper looking dude.
Here's #3 - normal?

And here's #4 - another one of those wierd looking ones. Spider?

And all together now -

What do you think?
P.S. Nobody else is tangled. Jack (bottom right on the group pic) is a little weak but not as weak as Freedom and he's completely straightened out. Hubby just pushed his body in-and-out of the tangle...
Re: Head is out but still no color?

Wow. I can't believe it. I wanted a normal and a bee and I got 2 of each. Wow. Just wow. I'm very happy.
Uh, uhm... until we have to figure out how to get them to eat something. Another day another crisis. :snake:
Del, how do you know the difference between a normal/pastel/spider/bee right out of the egg? I mean, I can see the difference with the amount of black - that's an easy one - but how do you know the 4th snake is not a spider? Or that the 3rd snake is not a pastel?
Re: Head is out but still no color?
Pastel's are bright out of the egg. Lots of head blushing and yellowish pigments.
Spiders, have that typical golden dorsal effect, and look like a spider lol
Normals are pretty obvious too. When there right out of the egg I think its the easiest in terms of spotting which is which. I mean in this type of clutch at least.
Your bees there, well if you can't tell you gotta beautiful bee, well you better go look at some bee pictures missy!! There stunning, congrats again!
Re: Head is out but still no color?
Hi,
Totally not an expert at spotting these things  but the heads of the bees look too light and unmarked to be plain spiders to me.
Number three might be a pastel but it's head looks kinda dark - though the neck marking is nice and light.
Watch as it comes out and reveals itself to be a spider now. :P

Re: Head is out but still no color?
Number 3 is a normal. You have two very nice Bees there though.
