I wouldn't say have to, but I also don't see a benefit in switching to live. If he's already eating something that's perfectly nutritious, why change to something equally nutritious but can hurt him if he's not ready to eat?

I like cheeseburgers, but I'd prefer not to have a cheeseburger attack me if I don't eat it right away.
