Close.. But not quite. You need to find one with a probe so you can have a probe on the surface over the UTH. The surface on the UTH in the tank should not be any higher than 92*. That one you showed me would work great for telling you the cool temp/ambient temp 78*/81*. but you would have no way of knowing how hot that UTH is where the snake will spend most of its time.

Keep looking. If you found that one Im sure they have one with a probe. Maybe search for indoor/outdoor?

You definitely need some way to measure the glass under the substrate in case she gets down there (i.e. a probe). A temp gun might work for this, and may be less money. You'd have to dig up the substrate to check it, though.

You may have to get creative, or spend more. You need what you posted, but with a probe.

damn, i forgot about the probe LOL

my bad, gonna keep searching, brb lol

    EDIT:

    OKAY I GOTS IT!!!

    http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2752177

"Press a button to display temperatures from 10°F to 140°F (-23°C to 60°C) in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. Graduated 0.1° increments reveal temperature trends long before they can harm pets. Equal accuracy is achieved in both aquatic and terrestrial environments, simply by positioning a temperature probe (attached to the thermometer by a 39" lead wire) in the spot to be monitored. Keep the lead out of sight by securing it with the included suction cups.

Choose constant temperature monitoring, or turn the unit off to save battery power (a battery is included)."

    Victory! Lol

Oh also dont mind the .com, the same product is on the .ca, i went to the wrong website, the Canadian one is only like 1 dollar more! WEWT

Yes that one will work :gj:

See unless you get the expensive one, your thermostat may not be digital. In this case you will not be able to dial in an exact temperature. Some have just a dial with color showing low and high. So your thermometer in the tank needs to be digital and have a probe so you can be sure of the temp. Especially on the hot side.

If you get that thermometer and it doesn't tell humidity you can also get a very small plastic humidity gauge. Hygrometer. From your local home depot. Or just one of the dial ones from the pet store to check to humidity. These are only a few dollars.

Yeah, I was thinking if I can spare an extra 10$ i may as well just get http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=2753956 seeing as I need 2 digital thermometers anyway. comes as a combo so thats a plus lol

So the thermometer with probe and the one i just linked without will do fine with the peice-o-crap thermostat for now, until I can get a new one?

You don't need 2 thermometers, just one with a probe. That does the job of two.

Nah, itll be okay. Im confident after getting the right thermometer with probe and one with that also has a humidity gauge

    edit: Oh! Really :O

so if i use that one I linked for 10$ with the probe, it will do the work of telling me the temp of where the prob is AND the ambient air temp? :O :O :O

wow, i didnt know that. okay, guess im just gonna buy a cheap Humidity gauge then :) Thanks, you saved me a lil money lol!

That will be fine. You can even get one of those other thermometers you posted from home depot was it? With the suction cup to stick on the glass just above the substrate on the cool side. I think those are alot cheaper than the ones sold especially for reptiles. It seems just by putting the word "reptile" on it make it cost more when it does the exact same thing.

I personally have a few of those small accurite therms that have no probe and only tell one temp. I use them in my tubs in my racks. Then I only use a couple of the combo ones with probe in a tub near the floor and one in a tub near the top. Since they are all heated by the same long strip of flexwatt I only need to double check temp in a couple places. The other single temp ones are just to monitor the ambient/cool temp near the front of the tubs. I don't use any thermometers that are marketed for animals. They are simply too expensive.

yeah, on petsmart right now they are REALLY expensive.

I guess im just gonna buy the one I linked for 9.99$. its a thermometer AND humidity guage and its cheaper than a single humidity gauge and its digital lol

EDIT: ah you must have a good thermostat dont you lol :D
