    You seem a bit misinformed. Read the caresheet. Link is in my sig. If you buy Flexwatt from reptilebasics.com, they will wire it up for free. You just have to pay like five bucks for the clips and it's still phenomenally cheaper than a single UTH. For thermostats, I've got my eye on the herpstat. It's by spyder robotics, and it's proportional. Lots of fancy features for a thermostat, too. Google it. To make sure your temperatures are correct, use a digital thermometer with a probe. There's a cheap accurite that everyone trusts. About $12. Put the probe on the hottest place the snake can get to inside the enclosure. (On the glass under the substrate under the hot hide.) Set the thermostat according to this reading. Don't let it go over 95.

    I'm sorry if you already know all this, it's just a few things you've said make it look like you need a little help. I'm just makin sure things are best for your snake.
