My three have all been with a corn snake in a tank with a screen lid. The first time my friend left the rocks on top of the screen off. The second time, I forgot to clip the tank shut (used tank clips). The third time my brother forgot to clip the tank shut.

My "escape" was similar to others where it was my fault and not that of the enclosure.

Pulled out a bin from my rack, fed my Spider a f/t and turned my back to check on another without closing the bin. She decided to run rather than eat and ended up climbing two bins up and wedgeing herself behind the other tub.

Looked around frantically before seeing the other tub sticking out ever so slightly.

It seems to be the case with most of the escapees from a rack system.. but I just got home from work and was tired and did not push the tub back all the way! The next day I was checking on them and she was no where to be found!!:(:rage: and since the temps out side of our reptile room were running in the mid 70's I figured she was going to be in a place that was dark and warm, so I decided to take apart the washer and dryer which was only a few feet away, and luckly when I was taking the dryer apart and heard my bay girl talking to me:) !!!!!BUT!!!!!!after I took it COMPLETLY apart she was not there:confused:so I left the washer and dyer apart for a few days checking them every hour AT LEAST never finding her! Needless to say the clothes started to pile up and the wife was on my case so I checked everything with a fine tooth comb and saw NOTHING but low and behold if something can go wrong it will! SO....!!! I put everything back and put a load in the washer and was going to take out the load and there she was! SHE WENT A FULL CYCLE IN THE WASHING MACHIME WITH SOAP AND ALL:O:(

2 weeks later she is eating again and putting on weight...!:D The moral of most ofd the stories TRY not to do your feedings when you are dead a tired, plan accordinglg:gj:

When I had mine in tanks, my one girl got out from me not closing the screen all the way until it locks so she slide it open! Found her on top of my bike tire shortly after I saw that she escaped! It was a scary moment!
