Re: I Got the Job!
I got it too. Haha. Well I go in today for orientation. I can't wait to actually begin working with the animals. :D
I completely understand about the good stores and the bad stores though. I have seen some Petsmarts that I refused to buy ANYTHING from because one trip to the reptile section had me walking out the door. The one I'm going to work in is great. I have visited the reptile section several times and every time, the snakes have hides, temps were correct, fresh water in the bowls, clean bedding, no over crowding. The max number of snakes in one enclosure were two baby ball pythons. I hope I'm going to like working here. Of course, my husband is like "Oh no!" because I have a feeling I'm going to come home from work with a new friend all the time.

Re: I Got the Job!
First off - Congrats!! :banana::banana::gj:
I used to work that self same job in the same dept. and I loved it...until we got a new manager, but that's another story. :) Just make sure your managers are cool and the job should rock.
As for bringing home new friends...I wanted to do that SOO many times. It got to the point that I would have one or two favorite reptiles that I wouldn't let go to anyone who didn't really know about them just because I couldn't have them. :D My three main favorites were a Shneiders Skink, a Fat Tail gecko, and a veiled chameleon. I used to walk around doing my basic chores with one of them on my shoulder (or head in the case of the cham) or hand. :)
Have fun, and remember to tell those folks all the RIGHT info!

Re: I Got the Job!
I'm pretty sure I can't take pictures while I'm on the clock. I went in for my first day of training today and I am so pleased. While I was waiting for one of the managers, I kind of shadowed one of the girls in my area while she took care of the sick animals. They had rats and birds in the sick room and I can tell you one thing. They are so well cared for! Fresh clean bedding. Fresh food and water. Chew sticks and treats. :) (not to mention they are soooo adorable. They have a little blue dumbo capped female rat. I want her!)
My husband is definitely worried I'm going to come home with all sorts of critters. The girl I was shadowing today said that she has taken a lot of animals home that have been brought into the store. Either someone didn't want it anymore or they found it.
